Lead in the development of our agencies police operations including criminal justice certification in Ohio, and department accreditation.In operation since the early 1980s, the Institute at Tri-C provides Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission certified training in three main areas – Peace Officer Basic Training Academy; Private Security Academy; and Advanced Law Enforcement Training. Tri-C's Law Enforcement Academies train a large number of emergency response professionals in Northeast Ohio. As a member of the Advisory Committee, Chief Klue will have a unique opportunity to contribute to the success of these individuals. The Academy noted that someone with Chief Klue's knowledge and insight “would be a valuable asset in helping us grow and be of better service to the citizens of Northeast Ohio and beyond.”. Officer Jerry T. Klue became a member of The Medina County University Center staff in November of 2012 as the first University Police Officer at our Campus. Officer Klue brings to MCUC valuable work experience as a Police Officer, Certified Teacher and Basic Police Academy Commander for the Ohio Peace Officers Training Academy. Officer Klue has an extensive Criminal Justice background of over 40 years. His work experience includes Patrol Officer, Police Supervisor, DARE Officer, School Resource Officer, AliCE Instructor as well as being a past Chief of Police.Medina County Safe Communities Coalition is a county wide coalition of Police, Fire, EMS, Hospital , Schools, Businesses and Citizens working in concert for county wide traffic safety. The program is funded by the Ohio Department of Public Safety, Ohio Traffic Safety Office through the Ohio State Highway Patrol.Administrative leader for Summa Health System Protective Services/ Police operations, developer of organizational structure and policy which provides a safe and secure environment for over 12,000 employees.
